Dental Implants or Fixed Bridges: Treatments for Missing Teeth

Do you have missing teeth that are affecting your confidence? Missing teeth can also affect your overall oral health. InStyle Dental Group has a wide range of treatments to restore missing teeth in our patient’s smiles. Dental implants and fixed bridges are two options for missing teeth. Continue reading on to learn about the benefits to each of these options.

Dental Bridges Treatment Process

Fixed dental bridges are a permanent restoration in replacing your missing teeth. What is the treatment process? Dental bridges make use of several porcelain crowns to restore a tooth. They use the surrounding teeth as a support for a solid foundation in the restoration. Your dentist will then place an artificial tooth. Typically, this restoration treatment only takes one to two visits to our clinic to complete and can be done by our dentists.

Dental Implants Treatment Process

Similar to dental bridges, dental implants are a permanent restoration for the missing teeth in your smile. Dental implants mimic the root of your tooth and have a visible artificial tooth. Your dentist will need to evaluate your jaw bone density and the health of your gums to see if you are a candidate for dental implants. A dental surgeon will place a post in your jaw bone. This treatment can take up to six months to ensure your jaw bone and structures have properly healed.
